Kiwi World
Overview
Kiwi World is a subscription-based medical assessment platform for MBBS students. As Technical Co-Founder, I designed and developed the platform's core software, including the assessment engine, subscription infrastructure, and administrative workflows.
The assessment engine generates balanced examinations using proportional stratified sampling across a hierarchical topic structure (category, subject, chapter, sub-chapter), so exams remain representative of the underlying syllabus rather than relying on manual question selection. I also designed a transactional audit system that makes administrative operations reversible while maintaining consistency across related entities. The platform reached over 2,000 signups within its first week of launch.
Challenges & Solutions
Naive random question selection could over-represent heavily populated topics while under-representing or completely excluding topics with fewer questions.
Implemented proportional stratified sampling with largest-remainder rounding, pulling questions from each category, subject, chapter, and sub-chapter in proportion to its share of the topic hierarchy.
